Sips and Skincare Part 2

While a refreshment at home may not be as exciting as having a drink with friends at your favorite restaurant in town, quarantine has afforded us the chance to put effort into the little things we’ve overlooked before. For example, in the past I would fly through my skincare routine and pour myself a glass of chocolate almond milk as I rushed to get on the couch in time for the newest episode of The Bachelorette. This winter, I’ve found myself with a lot more time at home and much less urgency in my days. So, I decided to take the extra time to actually ENJOY the steps in my skincare routine before making myself a cup of peppermint hot cocoa from scratch. At the risk of sounding dramatic, this has been life-changing.
Now, I close my eyes and feel my skin soak up my Natural Baller Moisturizer in these dry winter months. I feel a new sense of appreciation for my skin and its ability to protect the rest of my body. It also makes me feel proud that while I’m taking care of myself, I am using products with clean ingredients. I sip my hot cocoa and I feel accomplished because I put that extra effort and love into what I decided to feed my body with. Not to mention, there's something about homemade meals and drinks that always taste better than store-bought items. Lastly, I have a new appreciation for all of the people who work at coffee shops and restaurants because they consistently put the extra effort into the items they serve. Before this shift, I took that for granted. Being forced to slow down this year has had a positive impact on my relationship with myself and has also helped me grow in appreciation for the people I interact with daily. It truly is all about the little things!
If you are looking for a sense of fulfillment at the end of your day, if you like the coziness a cup of cocoa brings before bed, or if you just need a switch up your nightly routine, we’ve got you covered with: sips + skincare!
